"Stay tuned, our next OneWeb launch is scheduled for March 4 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. We can't wait to see how our Soyuz launch vehicle will put 36 more OneWeb satellites into orbit," the company said in a short message on Twitter.
On Friday night, the Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle, launched from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana, launched 34 OneWeb satellites into orbit. The Arianespace press service clarified that after the current launch, the total number of OneWeb satellites in orbit will reach 428.
OneWeb low-orbit spacecraft are designed to provide ground-based consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications. All of them were withdrawn by Russian Soyuz launch vehicles. Previously, General Director of Glavkosmos JSC (part of Roscosmos) Dmitry Loskutov told TASS that a total of seven launches of satellites of the British company are planned for 2022.
