The Russian Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket with 34 OneWeb satellites launched from the Kourou cosmodrome
The Russian Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket with 34 communication satellites of the British company OneWeb launched from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. This is reported by RIA Novosti with a link to the broadcast.
The launch was carried out with 34 OneWeb spacecraft at 21:09 Moscow time from the launch pad of the Guiana Space Center in South America.
The last launch took place on December 27 from the Baikonur cosmodrome, when the Soyuz rocket with OneWeb satellites was launched. As part of the launch mission No. 37, 36 spacecraft will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome for the first time.
Earlier it was reported that the Fregat-SBU upper stage (RB) for the Soyuz-5 medium-heavy rocket will be ready for launch at the end of 2025. The preliminary design of the product was completed in 2021. It is noted that the "Frigate-SBU" from the "Frigate-SB" will differ in the increased size of the discharged tank block, which allows to hold six tons of fuel instead of three.
