Rostov-on-Don. February 10th. INTERFAX-SOUTH - More than 200 units of military and special equipment will be used by air defense personnel of the motorized rifle unit of the Southern Military District at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
"During the field exercises, combat crews of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems, the Igla and Verba portable anti-aircraft missile systems will conduct control firing and work out a number of practical tasks to defeat air maneuvering targets simulating helicopters, attack aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles of a simulated enemy," the report says.
It is noted that more than 1 thousand servicemen are involved in the collection. The main task during the field exit will be to work out actions to detect and destroy small-sized highly maneuverable aircraft and cruise missiles. Also, the servicemen will work out combat training tasks to cover military facilities in the conditions of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by a conditional enemy.
