Moscow. February 9th. INTERFAX - The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation), Alexander Neradko, presented the General director of the United Aircraft Corporation, Yuri Slyusar, with a type certificate for the MS-21-300 aircraft and a certificate of an aircraft technology developer, the press service of the UAC reported on Wednesday.
"The MS-21 program is implemented on the basis of the integrated use of digital technologies at all stages of the life cycle of the liner. All documentation on the aircraft is initially developed in a single digital environment. Strict compliance with all the requirements imposed by Russian standards for the creation of aircraft technology ensures the necessary level of quality and safety of our aircraft," Slyusar said at the certificate awarding ceremony, which was held as part of the IX National Exhibition and Forum of Civil Aviation Infrastructure NAIS 2022 in Moscow.
According to the press service, the type certificate confirms the compliance of the MS-21-300 with the requirements for civil aviation equipment, and the developer's certificate certifies that the Irkut Corporation complies with the requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations FAP-21, imposed on organizations developing civil aviation equipment, in relation to the MS-21 aircraft.
"In 2021, Irkut Corporation successfully passed an inspection by the Federal Air Transport Agency for compliance with the requirements, during which representatives of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Russian Aviation Registry and specialized certification centers were shown all the necessary documents proving the company's compliance with the requirements for the organization of the development, manufacture and testing of prototypes of the MS-21," the report said.
MS-21 is a family of medium-haul passenger aircraft created by Rostec enterprises. Certification and the launch of serial production of the basic modification of the MS-21-300 for 163-211 seats were repeatedly postponed. One of the reasons was the US sanctions against Aerocomposite (part of Rostec), due to which the supply of composite materials for the MS-21 wing was banned. At the end of December 2021, the MS-21 received a basic type certificate.
Domestic materials for the wing were developed by Rosatom enterprises with the participation of MSU scientists. Wing consoles and center section are manufactured at Aerocomposite-Ulyanovsk. The share of composites in the MS-21 design, according to Rostec, is about 40%.
