Video: will the AK-105 be able to shoot through a copper ball

An unusual test was filmed by the authors of the channel "Demolition Ranch" (Demolition Ranch): they took an all-metal copper ball with a diameter of about 20 centimeters and tried to punch it with an AK-105. It turned out very entertaining and ... unexpected.

But let's talk about everything in order. The target being shot at in the video is an all-metal copper ball, apparently weighing at least 20 kilograms, given the difficulty with which the author of the video lifts it. However, we all know that copper is a fairly soft and ductile metal, and it seems that the Kalashnikov of the hundredth series of 5.45 caliber, if it does not pierce through it, then at least it will leave solid dents. We think so. The reality turns out to be completely different.

When firing an AK-105, a bullet leaves only a small mark on a strong ball, and a piece of it gets stuck on the surface. No penetration deep into the target! It looks very unexpected.

Then the authors of the video tried to punch the ball from other types of weapons: a pistol, an SVD rifle, several American-made submachine guns. And the result ... turned out to be even worse than when shooting from an AK-105: there are only insignificant points on a strong metal ball. Against this background, the Russian Kalashnikov is not so bad!

But the authors of the video decided to finish off the indestructible copper ball after all and suddenly rolled up for this ... a tank!

The British light reconnaissance tank "Scorpion" (Scorpion), which is used in the video in the fight against the copper ball, has a 76-millimeter cannon. It was aimed at a target that did not want to give up.

Shot! - and you can go see what came out of this venture. The ball has retained its shape here, but now only half. In the second part of it, the hit is clearly visible - and the strongest indentation is crushed by unimaginable force. In fact, there is no upper part of the ball. The persistent target was scattered like dough.

We must pay tribute, this ball really turned out to be a "tough nut" for small arms. Submachine guns and rifles could not inflict any noticeable damage to him, and only a 76 mm caliber tank gun managed to severely deform the target.

By the way, according to the authors of the video, such an all-metal piece of round-shaped copper cost them three thousand US dollars, or 225,900 rubles.
