One shot of the Kornet-D1 anti-tank missile system is equal to one destroyed target.

The accuracy of such military arithmetic was tested in tests in Dagestan - the result is not in favor of tanks.

Mikhail Andreev, chief designer of the Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau, told about the advantages of domestic weapons over Western analogues.

"The firing range of our complex is 4 times greater than the Javelin firing range - it has only 2.5 kilometers, while its armor penetration is much less. We have 1150 millimeters, he has about 800-900. And if our operator, as soon as he sees the target, presses the button and the rocket goes, then Javelin needs about 30 seconds before launching so that the homing head cools down so that it is ready to accompany the target and aim the missile at it," he shared with Zvezda TV channel.

The Javelin homing head is in the rocket itself, determines the target by infrared and thermal radiation. The principle of "let-forget" is applied - it is convenient, but if the temperature of the terrain, for example in hot sands, differs little from the temperature of the tank's armor, then the rocket may lose its target, and the operator will no longer be able to change the trajectory. And Javelin's homing is sensitive to interference - a powerful smoke screen or a special metallized aerosol will blind the "smart American missile".

The "Cornet" is guided by a laser beam from the launcher to the sensor in the tail of the rocket, and the flight can be adjusted at any time, and interference is not terrible.

"Cornets" were used in Syria, are in service with a number of countries, including Algeria and others. They have combat experience, and this experience is taken into account when upgrading. Therefore, combat experience, in this case, he is on the side of the "Cornet".

Javelin is available as a portable complex. If it is installed, then on platforms, almost artisanal. "Cornets" were originally developed not only for infantry. Placing them on armored vehicles allows you to hit low-flying air targets - due to the use of a non-contact target sensor in missiles, this becomes a unique property for anti-tank complexes, which has no analogues in the world.
