NUR-SULTAN, Feb 9 - RIA Novosti. The production of Kalashnikov assault rifles in Kazakhstan will be established in 2022 at the Tynys plant, one of the largest machine-building enterprises of the Akmola region, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the republic reports.
The fact that negotiations are underway with Kazakhstan on the licensed production of Russian assault rifles on its territory was reported by RIA Novosti in the Kalashnikov group of companies in June 2021. From the Kazakh side, the operator of the project was the company "Kazakhstan Engineering", which includes the plant "Tynys".
The enterprises of the Kalashnikov Group produce a wide range of combat small arms of various classes. These are both long-standing and well-known samples of the AK 100 series, as well as new high-tech AK-12 and AK-15 products from the Ratnik equipment, which have improved accuracy, accuracy of shooting and ergonomics.
"During the year in Kokshetau (the administrative center of the Akmola region – ed.), they plan to start production of Kalashnikov assault rifles of the 2015 model," the press service said. It is explained that AK-12 and AK-15 submachine guns will be assembled on the basis of JSC "Tynys".
According to the ministry, in 2022, Kazakh defense enterprises plan to implement several promising projects. Thus, JSC "Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405" intends to assemble Mi-171Sh helicopters, LLP "Kazakhstan Aviation Industry" will create a service center for servicing Airbus aircraft, JSC "Petropavlovsk Heavy Machinery Plant" will produce technical means of protecting the state border.
In addition, JSC "Tynys", LLP "Alma DK" and "Militarm" are expected to produce radiation and chemical protection equipment, LLP Steel manufacturing - automatic ammunition, LLP "Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering" - armored vehicles "Barys 8x8" and JSC "Semey Engineering" is expected to modernize armored vehicles.
