Kurganmashzavod has prepared the production of the BT-3F floating armored personnel carrier
Preliminary tests of the BT-3F floating armored personnel carrier (APC) are being completed in Russia. Kurganmashzavod has prepared the production of a new machine. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Rostec State Corporation.
"Currently, the preliminary tests of the BT-3F armored personnel carrier, which lasted more than a year, are coming to an end. The water-bearing qualities of the machine have been tested in marine conditions, firing tests have been carried out, the product has proven resistance to external factors, including conventional weapons," the organization reported.
It is noted that the company is ready to start producing cars after signing a contract for the supply of BT-3F.
The BT-3F is built on the chassis of the BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicle. The BT-3F reservation provides protection from the fire of large-caliber machine guns. The vehicle is designed for fire support and transportation of units. The armored personnel carrier received a remotely controlled combat module with a large-caliber machine gun.
Earlier, the press service of the Eastern Military District reported on the strengthening of the unit in the Amur region with upgraded infantry fighting vehicles. The military will receive the BMP-1AM "Basurmanin".
In January, it became known that in 2022 Kurganmashzavod plans to begin production of the Octopus-SDM1 floating tank.
