TSAMTO, February 8. Since December 2021, teaching officers of the International Mine Action Order of the Kutuzov Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been training Lao servicemen on the basis of the center's branch in Khammuan Province (Laos).
30 officers and sergeants of the engineering troops of the Lao People's Army are being trained, selected from key formations stationed in various parts of the country. In addition, among the trainees are teachers of the Military Academy "Commadam" and the School of Sergeants (these are the main military educational institutions of Laos).
The training program includes the study of explosives, ammunition and weapons of destruction, means of searching for explosive objects and protection of the sapper. Currently, the training is at the final stage, practical classes are held on specially equipped training grounds. The training will last until February 15 and will end with the final certification.
Sapper training courses in Laos have been held for the fourth time since 2018. During this time, 69 servicemen of the engineering troops of Laos were trained and trained.
In accordance with the decision of the President of the Russian Federation to assist in the demining of the territory in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation sent a mine clearance detachment of the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the number of 31 servicemen, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
