MOSCOW, Feb 8 - RIA Novosti. The concern of East Kazakhstan Region Almaz-Antey has begun testing its Wolf-18 interceptor drone in real conditions at Samara airport, the company's press service told reporters on Tuesday.
The Wolf-18 drone is capable of disabling intruder drones with the help of trap nets. In addition, the "Wolf" has the ability to ram other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
"Since February 7, 2022, tests of the ROSC-1 complex, equipped with the Wolf-18 drone hunter, have begun at Kurumoch airport (Samara) in real operating conditions," the concern said.
A mock-up of the ROSC-1 radar-optical facility security and neutralization complex, including the Wolf interceptor, will be presented by Almaz-Antey at the IX National Exhibition and Forum of Civil Aviation Infrastructure NAIS 2022, which will be held in Moscow on February 9-10.
Almaz-Antey will also present full-scale samples and models of its aeronautical equipment at the exhibition. In particular, JSC "VNIIRA" (part of the concern) will present the dispatcher's console, another subsidiary - NPO Almaz - will present models of the Doppler meteorological locator "DMRL-3", the highway radar complex "Sopka-2" and other complexes.
Azimut JSC and Instroy LLC will also act as co-exhibitors of the concern at NAIS 2022. The companies will present samples of products that Almaz-Antey comprehensively uses when equipping airports.
