The Soyuz-ST-B rocket with OneWeb satellites was installed on the launch pad of the Kourou cosmodrome
A Russian Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket was installed at the launch complex of the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. The rocket will launch British OneWeb communications satellites into orbit. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the Glavkosmos company (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation).
"The Russian Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle is installed on the launch pad of the Guiana Space Center," the message said.
The launch of the rocket, which carries 34 satellites, is scheduled for February 10. Additional devices will bring the number of OneWeb satellites in orbit to 428.
Glavkosmos noted that OneWeb's next missions using Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicles will allow the British company to provide services as early as 2022.
Last December, an average Soyuz rocket launched 36 OneWeb vehicles into orbit. The satellites were carried out with the help of the Fregat upper stage.
