By the end of February, Russian military instructors will train more than half a thousand junior specialists for the Tajik army. This was announced on Monday, February 7, by the press service of the Central Military District.
Classes with them are conducted both in classrooms and on simulators, and in the field. So, now Russian instructors are teaching local military to shoot from the armament of the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier. At the Lyaur mountain range, gunners learn to detect camouflaged targets and fire from a large-caliber machine gun. And the drivers of armored personnel carriers acquire the skills of driving military equipment over rough terrain, including when overcoming artificial and natural obstacles. "Before the practical classes, Tajik servicemen took a theoretical course on the design and tactical and technical characteristics of combat vehicles," the press service of the Central Military District reported.
They recalled that Russian servicemen have been training junior specialists for the armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan since 2015. Currently, training is conducted in 14 military specialties. Among them is a driver mechanic and a gunner-operator of a T-72 tank, a BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle. Our instructors also train future commanders of the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system, gunners of the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled gun, gunners of the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier, as well as scouts, grenade launchers and other army specialists.
According to the press service of the Central Military District, since 2015, our instructors have trained more than 6 thousand junior specialists for the local army.
