"Teledroid" will be able to work in the aggressive environment of outer space and perform experimental testing of typical operations in both copying and automatic mode

MOSCOW, February 7. /tass/. The anthropomorphic robot of the new generation "Teledroid" was demonstrated on Monday at the state corporation Roscosmos. It will be able to replace astronauts during work in outer space and is able to function in automatic and copying human actions modes, according to the state corporation's website.

"NGO "Android Technology" together with RSC Energia are working on the creation of an anthropomorphic robot of a new generation, called "Teledroid". It will be able to work in the aggressive environment of outer space and perform experimental testing of typical operations both in copying and in automatic mode," the message says.

The robot is designed to reduce the time spent by a person in the dangerous environment of outer space and facilitate work outside the base on the surface of the planet. According to the developers, in the future, the main work for such robots will be solving problems on the surface of cosmic bodies - the Moon, planets of the Solar System and their satellites.

"The copying control mode - the repetition of the movements of an operator dressed in a special suit - will allow using the intellectual capabilities of a person to solve the most complex tasks, and the intelligent automatic mode will take over routine operations," Roscosmos clarified.
