The Sirius attack unmanned aerial vehicle, which has been upgraded for the Russian Navy, will receive the functions of a search and rescue vehicle and a scout. Its serial deliveries will begin in 2023.
This was stated in the company "Kronstadt", writes TASS. Research work to determine the technical appearance of the modernized Sirius is carried out together with the naval aviation of the Russian Navy. "Sirius" will receive an anti-submarine variant, the capabilities of a scout-designator, a search and rescue vehicle and a repeater.
RG has already written that the Sirius long-range drone will be able to interact with manned aircraft as part of reconnaissance and strike circuits. It is assumed that the drone will open targets for aircraft.
The first flight is expected in May 2022. And Sirius will be produced at a specialized plant for the construction of large-sized unmanned aerial vehicles in Dubna.
