TSAMTO, February 7. The spacecraft launched on February 5 in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was launched into the target orbit and taken over by the ground facilities of the Main Test Space Center named after G.S. Titov of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces.
Launch of the Soyuz-2 launch vehicle.1a" and the launch of the spacecraft into orbit took place in normal mode.
A stable telemetry connection has been established and maintained with the spacecraft. The onboard systems of the spacecraft are functioning normally.
After taking control of the spacecraft, the serial number "Cosmos-2553" was assigned.
The Kosmos-2553 technological spacecraft is equipped with newly developed onboard instruments and systems for their testing under the influence of radiation and heavy charged particles.
More than 70 combat crews, as well as more than 40 spacecraft controls, systems and complexes for collecting, processing and displaying telemetry information of formations and military units of the 15th Army of the Aerospace Forces of special Purpose were involved in ensuring the launch of the spacecraft.
The new spacecraft is included in the Main Catalog of Space Objects of the Space Control System (SCCP), which is a single information database containing coordinate and non-coordinate information about each space object. The main catalog is intended for long-term storage of orbital measuring radar, optical, radio engineering and special information about space objects of artificial origin at altitudes from 120 km to 50 thousand km.
The catalog contains information on 1,500 indicators of the characteristics of each space object, including a set of orbital elements sufficient to predict its movement with the necessary accuracy, an international identifier number, data on the time and place of launch, the type of object, purpose, mass, size, etc.
Daily to maintain the Main Catalog of Space objects by specialists of the Space Control Center (CCCP) The Space Forces of the VKS process more than 60 thousand measurements, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
