Minsk. February 6. INTERFAX - American advisers dictate the rules of behavior to Kiev, Ukraine is provoked into a conflict with Russia, said the Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich.
"But look at what is happening in Ukraine now. They are clearly pushing, inflaming the situation, constantly talking about the aggression of the Russian Federation, already from the territory of Belarus. Allegedly, Russia is going to attack Ukraine, which, in my opinion, is impractical and unlikely today. Various fakes are being used, rumors are heating up this situation," Wolfovich said on the ONT TV channel on Sunday.
"What does this mean? According to my information, today the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has about 5-6 strategic-level advisers, military advisers. And at the operational level - more than 64 such advisers. Clearly, American advisers dictate how to live, how to build their armed forces, what to do and what to do," the Secretary of State of the Belarusian Security Council stressed.
"There are various reasons to provoke the situation. A Ukrainian helicopter, where our side recorded and provided objective control materials. There was no response. Just the other day, our electronic warfare equipment interfered and forcibly landed a Ukrainian drone on the territory of the Brest training ground. The Ukrainian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry was summoned, and another note was handed to him. What is this, if not provoking the situation and violating the state border? The reconnaissance drone, with intelligence equipment, was on the territory of a foreign state. Our drones do not violate the state border! And not only them," Wolfovich continued.
According to him, the militarization of the countries adjacent to Belarus is proceeding at an active pace.
"There is a frenzied militarization on the territory of neighboring countries, huge amounts of money are being invested in arming armies. Let's take a look and ask a question, so who spends more on defense, and who is arming today. Poland spends about 14 billion on defense, Ukraine has raised 15.5 billion this year, Lithuania spends 2.1% of GDP on defense, Latvia also, Poland - 2.2% of GDP. In Belarus, in accordance with the plan for the construction of the Armed Forces, 1.5% of GDP is planned for defense and armament. This is significantly less than our neighbors spend," the Secretary of State of the Security Council assured.
