Turkey is ready to do everything possible to end the tension between the two neighboring friendly countries [Ukraine and Russia] of the Black Sea region.
We are ready to organize a meeting of the leaders [Zelensky and Putin] or provide a platform for technical negotiations. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a press conference following talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey's position on the issue of supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea, and the sovereignty of this country remains unchanged.
"We welcome the position of President Volodymyr Zelensky and other representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, based on common sense and the priority of dialogue. Ankara's position is that it is necessary not to add fuel to the fire, but to strive to reduce the level of tension," the Turkish leader said.
"In the issue of monitoring in the Donbass conflict zone, we consider the role of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine to be important. We fully support the efforts of this mission, which has been led by Turkish diplomats since its foundation. We hope that this crisis will be resolved by peaceful and diplomatic means in accordance with the norms of international law, in the light of the Minsk agreements and the territorial integrity of Ukraine," Erdogan continued.
The Head of State further stressed the importance of developing cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine. "The Turkish-Ukrainian negotiations and signed agreements are an indicator of the will of the two countries to further deepen the strategic partnership," Erdogan said.
The Turkish President said that during the talks with the Ukrainian leader, he also discussed the situation of compatriots in this country, especially Crimean Tatars.
"Your visit is an indicator of who exactly stands next to Ukraine in a difficult moment. Our country will not forget this," he said.
Zelensky said that in accordance with one of the agreements signed today in Kiev, BAYKAR Makina will be able to expand the production of drones in Ukraine.
Earlier, 8 intergovernmental documents were signed in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, including a Free trade Agreement, Dialog says.tj with a link to the portal Turkish World.
