Kiev. February 4. INTERFAX - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Germany has not yet received written confirmation of the transfer of 5,000 military protective helmets promised to the country.
"The first thing we really need from Germany is to stop the practice of blocking the supply of weapons by other countries. Like, for example, this appeal of the Estonian government to the German government to allow the delivery of guns manufactured during the German Democratic Republic to Ukraine in order to raise the level of defense capability of our Armed Forces," the press service of the Ministry of Defense quotes Reznikov.
The minister also added that Germany continues to block Ukraine's acquisition of lethal weapons through the NSPA agency. "When we address the German government publicly, we ask first of all: please do not block the opportunity for us to defend ourselves," Reznikov said.
