Yekaterinburg. February 2. INTERFAX - The exercise of calculations of the S-400 "Triumph" air defense systems of the Central Military District (CVO) to repel a massive missile strike of a conditional enemy took place in Siberia, the press service of the CVO reported on Wednesday.
"The combat crews of the S-400 Triumph air defense system units marched to a new positional area during a tactical exercise, where they completed a set of tasks to bring the systems into combat position. After that, they searched and captured targets at a range of up to 300 kilometers, and also performed electronic missile launches to destroy them," the report says.
"Having hit the ballistic missiles of a conditional enemy, the calculations of the S-400 Triumph complexes performed an operational change of firing positions," the Central Military District added.
Also during the exercise, the military worked out overcoming the infected area of the terrain.
"About 500 servicemen and more than 40 units of military and special equipment were involved in the exercise," the Central Military District reported.
S-400 Triumph is a long-range anti-aircraft missile system (Almaz-Antey Concern JSC). It is designed to defeat jamming aircraft, radar detection and control aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, strategic and tactical aircraft, tactical, operational and tactical ballistic missiles, medium-range ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets and other modern and promising means of air attack.
