On Tuesday, February 1, at a meeting in the Russian Defense Ministry, the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, once again explained for what purpose Russian military units were sent to neighboring Belarus. And what tasks will the servicemen of the two fraternal countries have to solve in February at the joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022".
The Minister recalled that the ongoing inspection of the reaction forces of the Union State was organized by the decision of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and Belarus. "From the Russian Armed Forces, the military authorities and units of the Eastern Military District are involved. The first stage of verification is currently underway. The troops have been transferred to a distance of up to 10 thousand kilometers, including aviation units and military units of air defense," Shoigu said.
He specified that in the course of this inspection, the protection and defense of state and military facilities, the state border in the airspace within the framework of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Belarus and Russia was organized.
- In the period from February 10 to 20, a joint exercise "Allied Determination-2022" will be held at five Belarusian training grounds. During the exercise, tasks will be worked out to ensure the military security of the Union State and counter terrorism," Shoigu said. - The number of participants in the maneuvers and the main weapons systems does not exceed the parameters established by the Vienna Document of 2011, which does not oblige us to notify foreign partners about the events being held. Nevertheless, the Russian Ministry of Defense - within the framework of voluntary transparency - informed the military attaches of foreign states about the inspection and joint exercises.
It is clear that the large-scale tasks of these maneuvers require the involvement of diverse forces and means to solve them. The Russian Defense Ministry openly reported on the deployment to Belarus of two divisions of the S-400 Triumph long-range air defense systems and a division of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile systems.
Artillery, motorized rifle, amphibious units and our marines were also sent to Belarus for the exercises. 12 Russian Su-35 fighters flew to the neighboring republic. A lot of people and equipment are involved in the "Allied Determination" and Belarusian generals.
The military of the two countries conducted similar maneuvers more than once. In the West, they have always been accompanied by information hype and the search for hidden goals. They say that Russia is expanding its military presence zone and is not going to return its troops to the territory of the Russian Federation. And when the forecasts were not confirmed, they looked for new reasons for information attacks on Moscow.
Now such attacks have resulted in a real hysteria - planned and pre-announced exercises of Russia and Belarus in the United States and NATO states persistently pass off as preparations for an invasion of Ukraine. That is, in fact, they openly provoke an armed conflict and in every possible way push the Kiev authorities to unleash it.
