On Tuesday, at a conference call in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation under the leadership of the head of the department Sergei Shoigu, they discussed the delivery of the Bars-M mapping and remote sensing satellites to the troops.
The Minister recalled that the Progress Rocket and Space Center is engaged in the modernization and manufacture of these satellites in the interests of the Armed Forces. According to Shoigu, there are problems with the deadlines for the delivery of such devices. Therefore, at a meeting in the Ministry of Defense, they decided what measures should be taken to correct the situation.
Recall that at the end of December, the military department reported that in 2021, the Aerospace Forces provided 24 launches of satellites for various purposes, including 15 Russian ones. 12 such vehicles were taken over by specialists of the Main Test Space Center - GICC.
"As part of the orbital grouping of Russian spacecraft today there are more than 160 spacecraft for various purposes," the Russian Defense Ministry noted at the time. - During the year, the duty forces of the GICC named after G.S. Titov performed with high accuracy all the planned control sessions of the spacecraft of the Russian orbital grouping, about 60 percent of which is controlled by the ground-based automated control complex of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces.
