Five of Russia's most destructive artillery systems have been named

Firing from Russia's deadliest and most destructive artillery impressed the authors of the TechNoLimit channel.

Her gun has a caliber of 152 millimeters and sends a shell destroying everything in its path at a distance of up to 70 kilometers. At the same time, the howitzer can make an unimaginable 16 shots per minute. And the mobility of the system is such that, after making several volleys with different trajectories over long distances, it can leave the position before the first of the projectiles fired hits the target.

The next artillery installation in the rating, whose shots the audience can enjoy, is the Peony howitzer. It has been in service for a long time, but it is still one of the most powerful self-propelled guns. Its caliber is 203 millimeters, and the firing range is 50 kilometers. At the same time, the system can also fire small-capacity nuclear charges.

Third in the list of the most powerful Russian self-propelled guns is the 240-millimeter mortar "Tulip". It entered service back in the 70s, but it has enough crushing power to still be considered one of the most powerful artillery systems. These guns can even fire nuclear projectiles with a capacity of up to two kilotons. The Tulip is capable of firing volleys from closed positions, which makes it much more difficult to detect it.

The fourth in the top is the 123-millimeter self-propelled gun 2S-31 "Vienna", created on the basis of the BMP. This is one of the newest developments. It has a high degree of automation and at the same time is light enough that a self-propelled gun can be transferred to the desired point with the help of transport aircraft.

Finally, the fifth in the list and perhaps the most powerful of all is the Smerch multiple rocket launcher system. It is capable of bringing down 12 projectiles with a caliber of 300 millimeters on an enemy located at a distance of up to 90 kilometers, and hitting an area of 70 hectares with one volley. The installation fires 250-kilogram cluster fragmentation or high-explosive fragmentation, or thermoboric warheads. The Smerch salvo is comparable in damage to a tactical nuclear strike, which makes this Russian development the most powerful artillery system in the world.
