TSAMTO, January 31. About 10 thousand AK-12 assault rifles will be delivered to the Central Military District arsenals by the end of 2022 for further distribution to troops stationed in the regions of the Urals, Siberia and the Volga region.
Modern models of small arms will replace the machines of earlier modifications.
In 2021, the rearmament of a peacekeeping unit from the Volga region with an AK-12 was completed in the Central Military District. Almost 1 thousand units of AK-12 were delivered to a special purpose brigade stationed in the Novosibirsk region and to a special forces unit in the Samara region, the press service of the Central Military District reports.

The 5.45mm AK-12 assault rifle was developed by the Kalashnikov Concern. Compared to previous versions of the AK-74M and AKM submachine gun, it has increased ergonomics. The AK-12 has several Picatinny rails for installing additional equipment: sights, front handle, flashlight, laser designator. The magazine of the machine gun is equipped with a transparent insert for ammunition control.
