US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin plans to hold a meeting with the heads of major American defense companies, at which he wants to agree on accelerating the development of hypersonic weapons, CNN reports .
According to the channel's sources, the purpose of this meeting is to "light a fire" in the entire hypersonic industry, as well as to ensure that the industry gains momentum. In addition to the head of the Pentagon, it will be attended by the heads of Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Leidos, Aerojet Rocketdyne, BAE Systems, L3Harris and a number of other defense companies.
Earlier it became known that the nuclear submarine Georgia of the US Navy, which made a short stop in the Cyprus area, has all the means to strike Russia, for example, Crimea, and Ukraine, in particular, Tomahawk cruise missiles.
