Tallinn. January 29. INTERFAX - Joint exercises of the NATO combat group stationed in the country with Estonian servicemen on conducting combat operations in winter conditions will begin in Estonia.
The Winter Camp exercises will work out the interaction of the British, French and 1st Infantry Brigade of the Estonian Defense Forces. Armored vehicles, infantry, headquarters and engineering units will be involved in the maneuvers, the press service of the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces told Interfax.
"The exercises are aimed at developing the skills of British, French and Estonian soldiers in maintaining the combat capability of personnel and heavy military equipment in winter conditions, as well as the most effective planning and conducting offensive and defensive operations," said Colonel Andrus Merilo, commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade of the Estonian Defense Forces.
Live firing exercises will be held from January 29 to February 6. About 1,400 people will take part in them.
