CEO of Kronstadt Bogatikov: the Sirius attack UAV will make its first flight in May
In the spring, a new Sirius attack drone will make its first flight in Russia. The Kronstadt Company is preparing flight samples of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This was reported to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu by the General director of Kronstadt, Sergei Bogatikov, RIA Novosti reports.
Bogatikov noted that the company has completed the release of working design documentation. "Now the production of flight samples is underway. We are making our first flight in May of this year. We are completing flight tests at the end of this year," he said.
Also, the head of Kronstadt said that the production of the Sirius drone will take place at the new enterprise. He stressed that preparations for mass production are already underway.
Shoigu inspected the specialized plant of the Kronstadt company on January 27. Earlier it became known that the head of the defense department was shown the first flight sample of the Orion drone with a satellite communication antenna.
In December, the Kronstadt company announced the completion of the construction of a plant for the production of drones in Dubna.
In November, Bogatikov spoke about the beginning of the assembly of the first prototype of the Sirius heavy drone. Then he noted that the device is being developed as a heavier version of the Orion drone.
