The Ukrainian military practiced firing from NLAW ATGMs, which were handed over by the UK
The Ukrainian military has practiced firing from the Next Generation Light Anti-tank Weapon (NLAW) anti-tank missile systems. The defeat of armored vehicles with the help of NLAW, which the UK had previously transferred, was worked out at the Yavorovsky training ground, Defense Express reports .
The publication notes that the operators of anti-tank complexes have started working out practical actions after three days of theoretical training. Classes were held in a training complex that simulates urban conditions.
NLAW was developed by the Swedish company Saab Bofors Dynamics. The complex consists of a rocket in a transport and launch container, to which a calculation and tracking unit is attached, as well as sighting devices. ATGM works on the principle of "shot and forgot". The directional shaped charge of the missile is designed to hit armored vehicles in the upper hemisphere.
Earlier it became known that the United States transferred Ukraine has received a batch of M141 Bunker Defeat Munition (BDM) hand grenade launchers. The single-shot launcher uses rockets that allow it to penetrate fortifications.
In January, The Drive edition evaluated NLAW shipments from the UK. In the publication, grenade launchers were called a balancer for the Ukrainian military in future conflicts.
