MOSCOW, January 27. /tass/. The Su-35S multi-purpose fighters, which will take part in the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, have completed relocation to Belarus. This was reported to journalists in the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The Su-35S multi-purpose fighters of the Eastern Military District, involved in the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, have completed relocation to Belarusian airfields," the military department noted.
The crews overcame about 8 thousand km from the airfield in the Khabarovsk Territory. They performed two intermediate landings at the airfields of the Central Military District. "The flight routes of multifunctional fighters were carefully worked out by aviation navigators and took into account the possibilities of maximum non-stop flight of aircraft, as well as weather conditions along the entire route," the ministry said.
Now the crews will have to familiarize themselves with the flight routes in the airspace of Belarus, after which they will take up combat duty as part of checking the functioning of the unified air defense system of the Union State.
As previously reported in the Ministry of Defense, the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State will take place in two stages. At the first stage, by February 9, the redeployment and creation of groups of troops on the territory of Belarus will be carried out as soon as possible, the protection and defense of important state and military facilities, the protection of the state border in the airspace will be organized. There will also be a check of the readiness and ability of the forces and means on duty for air defense to perform tasks to cover important objects on the territory of the republic.
During the second stage of the inspection, a joint exercise "Allied Resolve - 2022" will be held from February 10 to 20, within the framework of which the issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State will be worked out. According to the Ministry of Defense, during the exercises, measures will be taken to strengthen the protection of the state border to prevent the penetration of armed groups of militants, to block the channels of delivery of weapons and ammunition, as well as to search, block, destroy illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy. The practical actions of the troops will take place at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichi ranges and the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi.
