Forbes: in case of a conflict with Russia, the Ukrainian Navy will be sunk in an hour
The naval forces (Navy) of Ukraine, in particular, the Ukrainian landing ship "Yuriy Olefirenko" of project 773, in the event of a conflict with Russia, can be sunk in an hour, predicts the American magazine Forbes.
In a publication devoted to the capabilities of the Ukrainian Marine Corps, it is noted that the latter is "too small" to counter a much stronger enemy, which is designated the Russian Navy.
It is claimed that Ukrainian marines in a large-scale conflict will be able to do something if three conditions are met: if they withstand heavy bombing, if Kiev does not capitulate and if the Ukrainians organize a counterattack. In this case, according to the publication, Ukrainian paratroopers "may try to outflank the attackers." "Given Russia's huge advantage at sea and in the air, it is much more likely that the entire Ukrainian fleet will be poisoned to the bottom of the Black Sea in one or two hours after the start of the operation," Forbes predicts a possible development of events.
In December, the commander of the Naval Forces (Navy) of Ukraine, Rear Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa, allowed the country to purchase Harpoon anti-ship missiles in the United States.
