At the Jibab training ground in the Syrian province of Derya, the Syrian military, under the control of Russian instructors, demonstrated their combat capability.

"Jibab" is a unique polygon. Old samples of military equipment are collected here as teaching aids. In these exercises, for example, a German tank from the Second World War acted as a target for Syrian grenade launchers.

After the exercises, the military sums up the first results.

"The new academic year, we will increase the indicators. The peculiarity of the training of local servicemen is, of course, the combat experience they have passed here, it leaves its mark," said Alexey Zakharov, representative of the Russian group of troops in Syria.

In turn, the Syrian serviceman Rajin Frhan Hussein shared his story about how he was wounded during the storming of a settlement in the province of Derya.

"I was just at a strongpoint, I stepped aside a little and a bullet flew into me! These classes help not to repeat such mistakes," he said.

According to Roman Parfenov, a representative of the medical service of the Russian group of troops in Syria, over the years that there is a war in the country, Syrians have accumulated some experience in providing first aid for wounds, but it needs to be improved, which military doctors did during the exercises.

Summing up the results of combat training classes, the military decided to hold them at the landfill with historical artifacts regularly.
