Former adviser to the head of GKA Kolesnik: Ukrainian satellite "Sich-2-30" was lost after launch
Launched for the first time in 11 years, the Ukrainian satellite Sich-2-30 is probably lost. This opinion was expressed by the former freelance adviser to the head of the State Space Agency (SCA) of Ukraine Andrey Kolesnik.
He noted that the Ukrainian satellite has not yet been identified, although, according to the agreement between Kiev and Washington signed in August 2021, the United States should have already entered it into the database, which is available on a special website . Kolesnik noted that information about the satellite is placed there as soon as objects enter outer space.
"Identification is carried out either by the owner of the object, if the owner voluntarily wishes to disclose the details of the trajectory of his space objects, or within the framework of existing agreements, as in the case of Sich-2-30," Kolesnik wrote.
According to the expert, since the satellite has not yet been identified, most likely there were communication problems. "There is no stable (or absolutely no) connection with the Sich-2-1 (Sich-2-30) satellite, therefore it is not possible to provide information to the American side regarding the extended parameters of its movement for full identification," he believes.
On January 13, the American company SpaceX of entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle from Cape Canaveral (Florida) with 105 satellites from 20 countries, including the Ukrainian Sich-2-30. According to the head of the State Space Agency of Ukraine ("Goskosmos") Vladimir Taftai, the amount of the contract for the launch of "Sich 2-30" by a SpaceX carrier rocket amounted to $ 1.99 million.
