Delegations and industrial enterprises from 129 countries were invited to the forum
MOSCOW, January 25. /tass/. The eighth International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022" will be held from August 15 to 21, and the experience of previous events will be taken into account in its preparation. This was announced on Tuesday by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Pavel Popov, opening a meeting of the organizing committee of the forum, held in the military department.
"In accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the International Military-Technical Forum "Army" is being held from August 15 to 21. When preparing it, it is necessary to take into account the experience of previous years, including the best practices of the Army-2021 forum," he said.
The Deputy Minister stressed that for seven years the Army forum has been demonstrating consistently high indicators. He noted that last year's forum aroused great interest of the general public - more than 1.7 million people visited its sites. "It is important that the upcoming Army-2022 forum be held as effectively," Popov added.
The Deputy Minister recalled that last year the event brought together about 1.5 thousand companies, as well as delegations from 117 states, 36 of which were high-level. Over 28 thousand samples of military and dual-use products were presented at the forum, the capabilities of modern weapons, military and special equipment of domestic manufacturing enterprises, as well as from the presence of the Ministry of Defense were demonstrated.
According to Popov, more than 200 scientific and business events on defense and protection of national interests were held at Army-2021. 45 state contracts worth over 500 billion rubles were signed. In addition, within the framework of the forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a ceremony of laying two modern ships of the near sea zone and four new submarines at the country's leading shipyards.

Popov noted that work is being carried out on the formation of national expositions and exhibition stands of foreign enterprises. To date, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan have already expressed their intention to form national expositions.
The Deputy Minister said that the program of the forum provides for thematic days of military-technical cooperation between Russia and foreign countries to promote domestic weapons to foreign markets. In this regard, as part of the demonstration program of the forum, demonstrations of modern and promising export-oriented models of weapons and equipment for foreign delegations will be held at the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield.
