The general director of the organization Dmitry Baranov noted that it will depend on the readiness of the spacecraft
SAMARA, January 25. /tass/. The number of Soyuz rocket launches in 2022 will be about 20, Dmitry Baranov, General Director of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC), told reporters on Tuesday.
"In 2022 [the year], I personally think there will be about 20 [Soyuz rocket launches]. Basically, it depends on the readiness of the spacecraft. Technically, we can provide significantly more than will be ready," Baranov said.
He recalled that in 2021 the company carried out 22 launches, adding that this was a repeat of the result of 2014. Baranov noted that "this is a very good pace."
Now the Progress RCC produces Soyuz-2 family launch vehicles. A promising Soyuz-5 rocket is also being created, for the production of which in 2019 the Industry Development Fund (VEB Group. The Russian Federation) provided the RCC with a preferential loan in the amount of 750 million rubles. The first launch is scheduled for 2023.
