YEKATERINBURG, January 25. /tass/. Instructors of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan have started a two-month training of 500 servicemen of the armed forces of the republic. This was announced on Tuesday by the commander of the military base, Colonel Yevgeny Kovylin.
"In the period <...> until March 27, a two-month training of foreign specialists by Russian servicemen in 14 military accounting specialties will take place at the Lyaur and Sambuli training grounds," he said, specifying that 500 specialists will be trained.
The press service of the Central Military District (CVO) noted that the instructors will train the commanders of BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems, gunners of 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns, mechanics-drivers and gunners-operators of T-72 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles BMP-2, gunners and drivers of armored personnel carriers BTR-80, as well as scouts, grenade throwers and other specialists. At the end of the training, the military will pass the standards for the subjects of training and perform control firing from standard weapons of combat vehicles, small arms and grenade launchers.
The training of Tajik army servicemen has been organized since 2015, during which time instructors have trained more than 6 thousand specialists.
The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside of its borders. It is located in two cities - Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It consists of motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RCB protection and communications.
