YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, January 25 - RIA Novosti. Measures to check the combat readiness of formations and military units of the Army Corps of the Eastern Military District (VVO) are being held in the Sakhalin Region, the press service of the military department reported.
"According to a conditional signal, the servicemen were raised on a training alert, after which they received small arms and marched on standard equipment to the specified areas, where, in turn, they started engineering equipment for firing positions and command posts," the press service of the Air Defense Ministry said.
According to the military, the personnel will have to demonstrate their skills to act both defensively and offensively, perform control firing exercises from standard weapons, as well as participate in training on radiation, chemical and biological protection.
Special attention will be paid to testing the skills of commanders in managing subordinate forces and means, in an ever-changing tactical situation. A number of tasks will be taken from the experience of modern military conflicts, including the ability to counteract strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
