Ekaterinburg. January 25. INTERFAX - Electronic warfare (EW) battalions and a radio engineering regiment will be created in the Central Military District (CVO), the commander of the CVO troops Alexander Lapin told reporters.
"In order to further improve the combat strength of the district this year, in addition to creating separate electronic warfare battalions in the Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk regions, we will reorganize a separate radio battalion with a deployment in the Altai Territory into a radio engineering regiment," Lapin said.
According to him, the new units will be equipped with modern samples of special equipment: "Field-21", "Snare", "Light-KU", "Forest-steppe", "Lesochek", "Stole".
"This will double the number of objects covered from unmanned aircraft and cruise missiles," the commander of the Central Military District added.
The press service of the Central Military District clarified that by the end of this year, the fleet of special electronic warfare equipment of the military district should be replenished with 70 modern models of weapons for various purposes.
