Brussels. January 25. INTERFAX - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg took part in a virtual meeting organized by US President Joe Biden of the leaders of the largest countries of the alliance and the European Union, the press service of the alliance reported on Monday.
According to the press service, the meeting was devoted to "Russia's continued military buildup in and around Ukraine and its consequences for European and international security".
The meeting was attended by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Polish President Andrzej Duda, representing the OSCE chairmanship, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
"The participants stressed the importance of unity at this critical time and made it clear that any further aggression by Russia against Ukraine will cost it dearly," the press service notes.
