Astrakhan. January 24. INTERFAX-SOUTH - Rocket scientists of the Southern Military District arrived at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region to conduct special exercises on the management of the Iskander-M missile defense system, the press service of the Southern Military District reported on Monday.
"The division of the missile compound of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, stationed in the Kuban, arrived at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region as part of special exercises to control the Iskander-M operational and tactical missile complex with combat launches," the message says.
It is noted that during the exercise, the military personnel will work out strikes against air defense systems, command posts, communication centers and other objects of a conditional enemy located at a distance of 200 to 300 km.
