Moscow. January 22. For the first time in modern history, the Khrunichev INTERFAX Center has fulfilled all production plans for the year, said Roman Khokhlov, deputy director of the center.
"For the first time in modern history, the Khrunichev Center completed the year without debt obligations for the production of rocket and space technology, that is, we have closed all existing contracts with the Roscosmos State Corporation for the supply of marketable products by the end of the year," Khokhlov said on the Big Cosmos program of the Roscosmos-TV channel.
The Khrunichev Center is one of the main developers of heavy launch vehicles, in particular, the Angara family. Due to financial problems, the company's debt reached 124 billion rubles a few years ago. Most of the debt was closed at the expense of state support.
It is planned to free up part of the territories of the center's production sites in Moscow to create a space center there. The space center with an estimated cost of 25 billion rubles will be built at the expense of the Moscow budget. The height of the tower will reach 248 meters. In addition to the headquarters of Roscosmos, a technopark with aviation and space industry enterprises will be located here. In 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin got acquainted with the plan for the creation of the NCC and supported the project.
On the released territory of the GKNPC im. A special economic zone will be created in Khrunichev with an area of 92 hectares, enterprises of the scientific and production cluster will be located, the creation of a congress and exhibition center, residential buildings and social facilities is being considered.
