Deputy General Director of the enterprise Roman Khokhlov also said that the Khrunichev Center for the first time in a long time completed the year without debt obligations on rocket technology

MOSCOW, January 22. /tass/. The tank hulls for the first Angara-A5, which will be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome, have already been assembled. This was announced by Roman Khokhlov, Deputy General Director of the Khrunichev Center for Production.

"Today, at the Omsk site (PO "Flight", part of the Khrunichev Center), as well as at the Moscow one, tank hulls have already been welded for a refueling layout, with which we will certify the launch complex at the Vostochny cosmodrome, and the first flight product," Khokhlov said on the air of the Big Cosmos program on Roscosmos TV.

In addition, Khokhlov said that the Khrunichev Center for the first time in a long time completed the year without debt obligations on rocket technology.

"For the first time in modern history, the Khrunichev Center completed the year without debt obligations on rocket and space technology, that is, we have closed all existing contracts of the state corporation Roscosmos for the supply of products by the end of the year," he said.

According to the deputy general director of the enterprise, this applies not only to Moscow, but also to all production sites of the Khrunichev Center.

About "Angara"

Earlier, the press service of the Khrunichev Center told TASS that the company had to manufacture four heavy Proton-M launch vehicles, their production will be completed in 2022. On June 22, 2018, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin announced the closure of the Proton project. On August 22 of the same year, at the Army-2018 forum in Kubinka, Rogozin told reporters that the operation of Proton-M would be completed in 2025.

All subsequent launches of heavy vehicles will be carried out at the Angara, since it is more environmentally friendly. The engines of the Proton-M rocket use toxic heptyl-based fuel, while the Angara has kerosene-based fuel.

Angara is a family of Russian launch vehicles. Universal rocket blocks "Angara" are manufactured at the Omsk PO "Flight" (part of the M. V. Khrunichev Center of the state Corporation "Roscosmos"). The launches of the heavy "Angara" took place on December 23, 2014, December 14, 2020 and December 27, 2021 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome. Light "Angara-1.2" was launched on July 9, 2014.
