Popular Mechanics: the "arsenal of democracy" for Ukraine from the United States may include ATGM and MLRS
The composition of the "arsenal of democracy", which can be sent by the United States to Ukraine as part of military assistance in the amount of $ 200 million, includes a portable anti-tank missile system (ATGM) AGM-148 Javelin and a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), writes Popular Mechanics.
The American edition, listing the new weapons that Washington can supply to Kiev due to Moscow's alleged possible aggression, also mentions the FIM-92 Stinger portable air defense missile system (MANPADS), AN/PVS-15 night vision goggles and improvised explosive devices (roadside bombs).
"American weapons sent to Ukraine should be easy to use, inexpensive and difficult to destroy by the Russians. The F-35 fighter jet located at the Ukrainian airfield would be the most powerful weapon on both sides, but it is easy to destroy it on the ground," the publication says.
On January 11, CNN, citing four sources in the US administration, reported that at the end of December last year, the United States secretly approved the allocation of additional military assistance to Ukraine totaling $ 200 million. What exactly was included in the help package was not explained. However, according to media reports, Washington intends to supply Kiev with small arms, ammunition, medical equipment and radar surveillance equipment.
