TSAMTO, January 21. The US administration has allowed the Baltic states to supply Ukraine with American-made anti-tank and portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Wall Street Journal newspaper.
For the re-export of Javelin and Stinger systems to Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, US sanctions as a manufacturer and supplier of weapons were required.
"The United States has given the go-ahead to three Baltic NATO member countries to send American-made weapons to Ukraine... The decision will allow Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to supply Javelin anti-tank systems and Stinger MANPADS for the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the publication says.
The administration, according to the publication, also notified Congress of its intention to transfer to Ukraine five Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters, which were originally intended for the Armed Forces of Afghanistan and were undergoing repairs in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
