The shortened preparation for space flight, which was held by the first-ever film crew - actress Julia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko, after reviewing the results, was recognized as successful. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC).
"The results of the shortened preparation for the flight of the participants of the space flight are considered. Such training has been recognized as successful and can be used for space tourists, taking into account the proposals of crew members," the press service noted.
In October, Maxim Kharlamov, the head of the Gagarin Central Control Center, told TASS that the analysis of the flight of actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko would take about three weeks. After its completion, it was planned to draw conclusions and outline measures to improve training methods.
Peresild and Shipenko went to the ISS on October 5, 2021 as part of the Soyuz MS-19 crew with cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov. They spent 12 days in space, after which they returned with cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky on the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft (Yuri Gagarin), which had been in orbit since last spring. The film crew had been preparing for the flight for four months.
Peresild and Shipenko on board the ISS for the first time in the world shot a feature film in space.
The space drama under the working title "Challenge" is a story about a female doctor who flies into orbit to save an astronaut. The film is a joint project of Roscosmos, Channel One and the studio Yellow, Black and White. Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky, Anton Shkaplerov, and Pyotr Dubrov also took part in the filming. Shkaplerov and Dubrov remained on the ISS until the spring of 2022.
