Moscow. January 20. INTERFAX - The General Meeting of Shareholders of the United Aircraft Corporation approved the merger of the MiG and Sukhoi companies, the UAC said in a statement at the Corporate Information Disclosure Center.
"To reorganize the Public Joint-Stock Company United Aircraft Corporation in the form of joining the Joint-Stock Company Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company and the Joint-Stock Company Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG (JSC RSC MiG)," the shareholders' decision says.
As Interfax reported, the decision to merge UAC, MiG and Sukhoi into one organization was made at a meeting of the Board of directors on November 30.
"In addition to performing the functions of a corporate center, UAC will become an operating company, will directly manage production sites and design bureaus, implement aviation programs and develop promising equipment," the press service said at the time.
"At the same time, the strong and world-famous brands Sukhoi and MiG will remain, reputable design schools will continue to develop," the UAC stressed.
They noted that the simplification of the corporate structure of the UAC will eliminate duplicate administrative functions and reduce the general economic costs of the corporation.
"At the same time, it is planned to develop corporate competence and service centers, expand cooperation of production sites for more effective implementation of aircraft construction programs. Along with other measures, this should ensure an increase in the financial stability and investment attractiveness of the UAC as a whole," the press service said.
The Sukhoi company serially produces Su-35 fighters and Su-34 bombers in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and also fulfills a number of export contracts.
