MOSCOW, January 20 - RIA Novosti. The Barnaul compound of Strategic Missile Forces will be fully re-equipped with Yars complexes in April 2022, division commander Dmitry Shiryaev said.
According to Shiryaev, the division is currently working on preparations for the reception and commissioning of weapons, military and special equipment of the second and third missile divisions.
Thus, the 867th Missile Regiment, which has already taken up combat duty in December 2021 as part of the mobile command post of the missile regiment and the first missile division, will take up full duty in April 2022, he added.
Yars (RS-24) is a strategic missile system with a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile of mobile and stationary basing with a separable warhead. As reported, the Teikovskaya, Yoshkar-Ola, Nizhny Tagil, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk missile divisions were completely re-equipped with mobile-based Yars complexes. The Barnaul and Bologovskaya divisions are being re-equipped with mobile-based complexes and the Kozelsky Division is being re-equipped with a stationary-based complex.
