Krasnodar. January 20. INTERFAX-YUG - The missile compound of the Southern Military District in the Kuban, equipped with the Iskander-M missile defense system, has been raised on a training alert and will conduct a tactical exercise with combat missile launches at the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
"More than 400 military personnel of the Southern Military District as part of units are making a multi-kilometer combined march from the point of permanent deployment to the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region, where they will take part in a tactical exercise with live missile launches," the report says.
It is noted that during the march over rough terrain, the rocket men will have to work out at least 10 combat training tasks, overcome infected areas of the terrain, deploy complexes and deliver conditional missile strikes on specified targets.
