Roscosmos and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will discuss the flight of a Belarusian cosmonaut into space
Representatives of the state corporation "Roscosmos" and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus plan to hold a meeting in late January - early February in Moscow. The parties will discuss the implementation of the project on the flight of a citizen of Belarus into space. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS Vladimir Gusakov.
"A joint project to prepare a Belarusian citizen for a space flight was supported by the heads of state of Belarus and Russia at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State held in November last year. As part of the promotion of the project, a working meeting of representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the state Corporation Roscosmos is planned to be held in Moscow in late January — early February of this year," Gusakov said.
The head of the NAS noted that the negotiations plan to coordinate the organizational and legal aspects of the project. The parties may also start forming a scientific program for the space flight of the Belarusian cosmonaut.
Earlier, scientists at the University of Ottawa in Canada revealed the danger of a long stay in space. The researchers described the mechanisms that contribute to the development of muscular anemia in astronauts.
In December, Kyodo News agency announced preparations for the launch of the world's first wooden satellite. As part of the preparation, the Japanese astronaut will attach samples of the material outside the research module of the International Space Station.
