Two divisions of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft complexes of the Russian Aerospace Forces will be transferred to Belarus as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State. Also, 12 Su-35 fighters and a division of the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes will go to the neighbors, RIA Novosti writes with reference to the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin.
The first stage of verification will last until February 9. Prior to this date, it is planned to redeploy forces and create groups of forces in designated areas in a short time, organize the protection and defense of important facilities, protect the air borders of the Union State - including within the framework of the unified regional air defense system of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. The ability of the air defense forces to protect important facilities on the Belarusian territory will also be tested.
"The units of the Eastern Military District and the Belarusian Army will conduct control classes on fire training and other disciplines, tactical exercises at various training grounds with the development of defense and the fight against illegal armed formations," Fomin said.
The number of participants in the exercise and the number of weapons systems involved do not exceed the parameters to be notified established by the Vienna Document of 2011, the Deputy Minister stressed.
