SpaceX has launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle with Starlink satellites
The reusable first stage of the American Falcon 9 launch vehicle made a successful controlled landing on the floating platform A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. This was reported on the Twitter account of the developer company SpaceX.
The vertical landing occurred nine minutes after the launch of the rocket from Complex 39A at the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome in Florida. The launch took place at 05:02 Moscow time. Falcon 9 has launched 49 satellites into orbit as part of the Starlink project. The launch was broadcast on the company's website.
As Interfax notes, this first reusable stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was used for launches for the tenth time.
Starlink is a project of American entrepreneur Elon Musk for remote rural regions, which provides connectivity through a network of orbiting satellites. In December 2021, the head of SpaceX announced that the company had changed the orbits of some Starlink satellites to reduce the likelihood of a collision with space debris.
