The launch of the Soyuz-ST-B launch vehicle is scheduled for February 10

MOSCOW, January 17. /tass/. More than 30 British OneWeb communications satellites have been delivered to the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana as part of their preparations for launch on the Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket on February 10. This is stated in the message of Roscosmos, distributed on Monday.

"A new batch of OneWeb spacecraft has been delivered to the Guiana Space Center as part of mission No. 34," the report says.

As specified in the state corporation, refueling of the propulsion systems of the Fregat upper stage with compressed gases and fuel components began on Saturday. These works are carried out by specialists of the S. A. Lavochkin NGO and the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities.

"The launch of the Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket with the Fregat upper stage and 34 OneWeb spacecraft is scheduled for February 10, 2022," Roscosmos recalled.

Previously, General Director of Glavkosmos JSC (part of Roscosmos) Dmitry Loskutov told TASS that the first launch of British OneWeb communications satellites in 2022 is planned to be carried out in February from the Guiana Space Center (Kourou Cosmodrome). According to the CEO of Glavkosmos, a total of seven OneWeb satellite launches are planned for 2022.

OneWeb low-orbit spacecraft are designed to provide ground-based consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications. Now the group has 394 devices. All of them were withdrawn by Russian Soyuz launch vehicles.
